Hair Transplant
Permanent Natural Hair Growth Treatment
Sometimes hair loss escalates to a point where there are visible larger balding areas on the scalp which requires immediate attention, and possibly medical intervention. Hair transplant is a safe procedure to treat hair loss. It is a surgical method procedure to treat alopecia or hair loss. In the process the bald areas on the scalp are implanted with hair surgically by taking hair follicles from the donor hair from the other parts on scalp to the balding spots, thus giving rise to new hair growth. This is unlike other surgeries where external donors are required.

Why chose Hair Transplant over other hair treatments?
- Effect of medical therapy (minoxidil, finasteride) is temporary.
- Hair Treatment results are not satisfactory in advanced pattern loss.
- Surgical management remains the only permanent method of restoring hair in androgenic hair loss.
- The hair grows naturally in the recipient areas.
- Post treatment maintenance is easy just like the natural hair
Who can consider getting the Hair Transplant Treatment done?
- Is between the age of 28-30 or above
- Inadequate response to medications
- Has sufficient donor hair
- Does not suffer from serious health issues such as diabetes, high BP, Asthma, or any heart conditions
- Has Significant hair loss : Norwood Class III or greater
- Has been ruled out for Non – androgenic causes of hair loss
Types of Hair Transplant Treatments:
Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE)
- Follicular units of hair are extracted one by one from the donor area.
- The follicular Unit grafts are then transplanted to the areas on the scalp affected by extreme hair loss or balding.
- The procedure is ideal for eyebrow replacement.
- Although an expensive, tedious, and time consuming procedure, FUE is less invasive, entails shorter sessions, and is ideal for individuals in the early stages of extreme hair loss.
Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT)
Also known as the “Strip Procedure”, this form of hair transplant involves the removal of a strip of hair from a “donor site” on the patient’s scalp.
- The “donor area” is the part of the scalp where the hair growth is thick and normal. The area from where the strip is taken is then surgically sutured.
- The strip of hair containing hair follicles is divided into grafts.
- Each graft contains one or two hair follicles.
- Thousands of these grafts are then placed into tiny incisions made on the bald areas of the scalp. These bald areas are known as the “recipient areas”.
- FUT is a faster method that involves the transplantation of a large number of hair follicles in a single session.
- FUT is an invasive procedure that entails a longer recovery period.
- Young individuals whose early alopecia which is still evolving
- Individuals with Noorwood grade VI or VII with poor density
- Individuals with significant health problems
Hair Transplant works on the principle of donor dominance; the recipient area acquires the characteristics of donor hair
